1. Taiwan trademark registration. Taiwan has its own independent trademark registration system. 2、 The subject and types of trademarks in Taiwan

1. Trademarks consist of text, graphics, three-dimensional shapes, color or sound combinations, etc. In Taiwan, in addition to general trademark registration and group trademark registration, certification trademark registration can also be conducted.

2. A group trademark refers to the organization or membership of a guild, association, or other organization with legal personality, which is recognized by the group logo. This refers to the general membership logo; A certification trademark refers to a mark used to prove the characteristics, quality, precision, origin, or other matters of someone else's goods or services.

3、 Required documents for trademark application in Taiwan

1. Apply as a legal entity, attach a copy of the latest annual inspection "Business License" or valid registration certificate stamped with the official seal; Apply as a natural person with one copy of personal identification document attached;

2. The applicant's detailed information, including name or title, nature, nationality, and detailed address and postal code;

3. Trademark design;

4. 20 product names and categories;

5. Those who appoint a trademark agent must attach a letter of appointment (if it is in a foreign language, a Chinese translation should be attached separately).

4、 Taiwan Trademark Registration and Application Procedure

1. Application process (smooth progress):

(1) Formal examination: After submitting the trademark documents, you can receive an acceptance notice within about 2 months. After examination, the application number and confirmation of the application time will be given after submission. At this stage, review whether the application documents meet the requirements.

(2) Substantive examination: Review whether the trademark has registrability, such as distinctiveness, in accordance with the law. If the examiner considers that the trademark is not suitable for registration, a rejection notice shall be issued. The applicant can provide a response within the specified time. The applicant can also apply for a delay in responding.

(3) Announcement: After the trademark is reviewed, the applicant will be informed that the trademark application has been accepted and published in the trademark announcement. Anyone can raise objections within the 3-month announcement period, stating their reasons and submitting relevant evidence.

(4) Registration approval: Trademarks that have been ruled to be eligible for registration after opposition, or trademarks that have been published without opposition, will be approved for registration and a registration certificate will be issued. The entire smooth application process (if there are no rejections, objections, etc.) will take approximately 8-12 months.

3. The term of a Taiwan trademark: In principle, the validity period of a trademark is 10 years, calculated from the date of registration approval, and the trademark right can be applied for renewal. But it is necessary to apply for renewal registration within 6 months before the registration validity period, and each renewal registration is valid for 10 years; A six-month grace period, but additional fees must be paid.

Taiwan's trademarks can be applied for in multiple categories in one case, but the application fee, registration fee, and extension fee are still calculated by category rather than by case.
